About The Role
GAIN Ethiopia is recruiting a Business Development & Partnerships Coordinator to facilitate the development of new funded projects and programmes. The position involves identifying potential donors and funding prospects, coordinating internal resources, producing thorough and competitive proposals, and advising country teams in Ethiopia to secure and manage new grants and contracts. This 18-month fixed-term contract role will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the proposal bidding process to deliver high-quality and competitive submissions.
- Form and lead internal teams to develop project designs, often adhering to tight deadlines.
- Monitor all parts of proposals—including narratives, budgets, monitoring and evaluation plans, and workplans—to ensure timely and quality submissions.
- Identify new potential donors and funding opportunities through partnerships, internal networks, and research.
- Serve as the primary liaison for information on donors, partners, and funding options, ensuring shared intelligence with global teams.
- Collaborate closely with Ethiopia country teams and technical experts during programme and proposal development.
- Assist in writing, revising, and shaping project proposals directly.
- Ensure project designs meet donor priorities, guidelines, and organisational strategic goals.
- Aid in developing project budgets with finance teams to ensure feasibility.
- Establish relevant performance indicators to track project progress and impact.
Candidate Profile
The preferred candidate will have a demonstrated history of spotting funding opportunities, drafting competitive donor proposals, and coordinating multidisciplinary bid processes. Expertise in project design, logical frameworks, performance measurement, budgeting, donor compliance, and report writing is essential. Knowledge of enterprise development, Business Development Services (BDS), and SME support programs is advantageous.
They should possess excellent proposal writing, analytical, organizational, and coordination abilities, managing multiple competing priorities effectively to deliver high-quality results. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are crucial, enabling effective collaboration with technical specialists, finance teams, country program staff, and external partners to develop innovative and effective programs.
Compensation and Terms
The gross annual salary range for this role is from USD 14,904 to USD 17,040, dependent on experience.
