Job description

About the Company

A specialist event design and hire business creates memorable experiences for a wide range of clients. Its work spans major sporting events, brand activations, premium dining, weddings, and exhibitions. The company is now seeking a Business Development Manager to support and grow its exhibitions division.

Role Overview

This position is focused on revenue generation for the exhibitions and print side of the business. It is a hands-on, client-facing role where you will identify fresh opportunities, build lasting relationships, and turn enquiries into confirmed work. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure clients experience a smooth process from first contact through to event delivery.

Terms and Working Arrangement

  • Permanent full-time position
  • Flexible working arrangement
  • Annual salary between $110,000 and $130,000, plus superannuation, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with exhibition and print clients, serving as their main contact across the full project journey.
  • Consistently build a healthy sales pipeline using CRM systems, networking opportunities, industry events, and direct prospecting.
  • Seek out, pursue, and win new business across the corporate, government, and brand sectors within exhibitions and print.
  • Run client briefings, attend site visits, and deliver presentations as needed.
  • Look for ways to increase account value through upselling, repeat work, and referrals while keeping client satisfaction high.
  • Create and implement a focused sales plan for the exhibitions and print segment that supports growth and revenue targets.
  • Keep CRM records accurate and current, including sales activity, opportunity tracking, and forecasting.
  • Track competitors, market movements, and industry trends to shape sales activity and uncover new opportunities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will bring proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within exhibitions, events, or a similar environment. A strong history of meeting and surpassing sales targets, along with excellent pipeline and lead conversion ability, is essential.

Additional Requirements

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the confidence to deal with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Well organised and self-driven, with the ability to handle a busy workload and multiple live projects while maintaining quality and responsiveness.
  • Sound knowledge of the exhibitions sector, including production workflows, materials, and client expectations.
  • Customer-focused approach with a genuine commitment to exceptional service and long-term commercial relationships.
  • Comfort using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with design, production, and operations teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Ability to work from the office near Pagewood.

Eligibility and Checks

  • Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the location.
  • The role is subject to background screening.
