Job description

Role overview

This is a senior commercial position for a Business Development Manager focused on growth and expansion across the EMEA region. The role is based in Germany and supports a partner company that will handle the application review and the next stages of the process.

You will be joining a fast-moving data and intelligence platform used by startups, investors, corporates, and public institutions. The job calls for someone who can lead complex B2B selling, communicate value clearly to senior stakeholders, and help expand the business into new markets and customer groups.

The environment is highly autonomous and places more emphasis on insight-led selling than high-volume outreach. In addition to closing deals, you will help shape commercial strategy, sharpen messaging, and improve how the go-to-market motion is executed.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a strong pipeline across EMEA by targeting high-value accounts in venture capital, corporate innovation, and public sector networks.
  • Use research, market insight, referrals, events, and relationship-based outreach to connect with senior decision-makers.
  • Manage the complete sales process from initial contact through qualification, discovery, tailored demonstrations, negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Handle consultative sales conversations with senior-level stakeholders while keeping the focus on business needs and long-term impact.
  • Present the platform as a strategic intelligence solution by turning customer challenges into practical, insight-driven value propositions.
  • Work closely with product, marketing, and leadership teams to pass on market feedback and improve positioning and execution.
  • Support the development of commercial strategy as the company enters new markets and serves additional customer segments.

Requirements

  • Background in full-cycle business development or sales, ideally in SaaS, data platforms, or other complex B2B settings.
  • Proven success with thoughtful, targeted outbound prospecting based on research and account prioritization.
  • Experience selling to senior buyers such as executives, strategy teams, investors, or public-sector leaders.
  • Strong communication ability with the confidence to explain sophisticated value propositions in simple terms.
  • An analytical, curious mindset with genuine interest in markets, startups, and innovation ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM tools such as HubSpot and structured pipeline management.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.

Benefits

  • Competitive base pay plus uncapped commission potential.
  • Equity or stock option participation.
  • Fully remote setup across Europe, with optional office access.
  • Flexible work style with a high-trust, autonomy-driven culture.
  • Personal development allowance to support learning and professional growth.
  • Exposure to international markets and senior stakeholders across multiple industries.
  • Collaborative, flat-structure environment with a strong innovation focus.
  • Opportunity to work in a business centered on startups and data-led decision-making.

Application and privacy information

This role is posted on behalf of a partner company, which will manage all applications and the following steps in the hiring process. A matching system is used to review applications against the core requirements, and the shortlist is then passed directly to the hiring company. Interviews and assessments are handled internally by that company.

By applying, candidates consent to the processing of personal data for recruitment evaluation and sharing relevant details with the hiring employer under applicable data protection rules, including GDPR. Candidates may exercise their privacy rights, including access, correction, deletion, and objection, at any time.

Automated tools may be used to support parts of the recruitment workflow, such as application review, resume analysis, response assessment, and basic inconsistency checks. These tools support the recruitment team but do not replace human decision-making. Final hiring decisions are made by people.
