Position Summary
We seek an enthusiastic, energetic, and dynamic Business Development Manager based in Melbourne, VIC, working remotely. Reporting to the Director of Sales APAC, the role centers on driving sales and building strong partnerships within the travel agent community and consumer markets for Back-Roads Touring.
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams locally and nationally including headquarters to ensure cohesive strategy implementation.
- Manage and analyze sales performance in your territory, identifying trends and refining sales approaches continuously.
- Establish and nurture relationships with travel agencies focusing on agencies with the highest growth potential.
- Create and execute targeted sales and marketing plans tailored to key accounts within your territory.
- Aim to increase trade sales annually through ambitious growth targets.
- Design and deliver training for agency partners to deepen their understanding of Back-Roads Touring and Topdeck brands.
- Maintain detailed sales records in CRM, including training sessions, appointments, feedback, and other sales activities.
- Oversee the Sales Manager budget responsibly, adhering to company policies.
Experience and Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years travel industry experience.
- Preferred experience in sales or marketing roles.
- Positive attitude with creative problem-solving skills and willingness to think innovatively.
- Excellent relationship-building and time management abilities.
- Confident public speaker and presenter.
- Proficient with Office 365 applications.
- Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or similar.
- Self-motivated with an existing travel industry network.
- Important: Direct travel experience in the UK and Europe; North America and Asia knowledge is a plus.
Additional Role Expectations
- You are required to provide your own vehicle; compensation will be provided accordingly.
- Flexibility to work beyond typical business hours for events like travel expos, seminars, and promotional activities.
- Regional travel within Victoria, occasional interstate and international travel as needed.
- Lead Travel Agent familiarisation trips organized by Back-Roads Touring.
