Job description

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager plays a key role in acquiring and securing new clients by promoting and selling all offerings from Isentia’s range of products and services. Success is measured by consistently closing high-value deals across the full product portfolio. While outbound sales efforts are the primary source of new business, inbound leads and marketing campaigns also contribute. Establishing strong client relationships quickly and delivering tailored consultative solutions that address genuine business challenges are critical. After sale closure, the role involves working alongside Client Success teams to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing support to maximize client growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture new client relationships, generating profitable contracts to achieve defined sales targets.
  • Own the entire sales cycle from prospecting and consultative engagement through to deal closure and client onboarding.
  • Research prospective organizations using networks such as LinkedIn to identify and connect with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct engaging and customized presentations showcasing the comprehensive suite of Isentia products focused on solving client business needs.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline data and forecasts within Salesforce CRM, ensuring pipeline hygiene.
  • Collaborate extensively with Client Success and onboarding teams to guarantee effective handover and client satisfaction post-sale.

Candidate Profile

  • Highly driven sales professional with a "hunter" mentality, motivated by identifying prospects, proactive outbound engagement, and closing deals.
  • Prior experience in SaaS or media sales is strongly preferred, providing knowledge of market conditions and competitor landscapes to enable immediate contribution.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven success in a B2B consultative sales environment with demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals under pressure.
  • Strong strategic selling skills, particularly in offering solutions to Marketing and Communications leadership.
  • Disciplined CRM user, experienced in managing sales pipelines and opportunities within Salesforce or equivalent tools.
  • Aligns with company culture through a challenger mindset, believes in collaborative strength, and maintains a flexible, positive approach in a high-performing atmosphere.

Benefits and Additional Details

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $100,000 AUD to $120,000 NZD, dependent on experience.
  • Uncapped commission structure providing unlimited earning potential.
  • Generous leave provisions including 20 days annual leave and 10 days personal leave (covering sick and carer’s leave) each year.
  • Hybrid work model offered, supporting work-life balance.
  • Parental leave entitlement to support family needs.
  • Additional perks such as eyewear allowance, Employee Assistance Program, participation in incentive programs, annual flu vaccinations, volunteering leave, and recognition for service anniversaries.
