About the Role

The Heart Foundation of Jamaica (HFJ) is looking for an energetic and dedicated Business Development Manager passionate about promoting healthy living. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, this role is integral to the management team and involves active participation in strategic decision-making processes impacting the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management to develop an annual business development plan and budget for board approval aligning with HFJ's strategic goals.
  • Maintain and nurture strong relationships with current partners while establishing new connections to enhance HFJ's visibility, impact, and financial support.
  • Raise public awareness of HFJ's programs and services.
  • Strengthen infrastructure to boost HFJ’s budget by soliciting major gifts, securing local and international grants, organizing special events, promoting HFJ programs and services, garnering support from public, corporate, and foundation sectors, and growing membership.
  • Work independently with strong organizational skills and thrive in a high-paced work environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales is essential.
  • Background in business development with experience in proposal writing and sponsorship identification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience, including sales, preferably within a nonprofit setting.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and developing multiple donor relationships.
  • Proven track record of expanding and maintaining donor, sponsor, or client partnerships over time.
