Job description
Role overview
This role is responsible for managing and growing relationships with assigned members and prospects. The position focuses on increasing market reach by bringing in new members and expanding business through cross-selling and upselling SIMAH’s products and services to both existing and potential clients. The person in this role serves as the main point of contact between the client and SIMAH across all relevant areas, while ensuring customer needs are addressed and satisfaction remains high.
Policies, processes, and procedures
- Adhere to all relevant functional policies, standard procedures, and work instructions to ensure tasks are completed in a controlled and consistent way.
Day-to-day operations
- Carry out the daily responsibilities of the role in a way that keeps work flowing smoothly and without interruption.
Account management
- Own and manage assigned accounts while delivering a high level of customer service, including clarifying agreements, supporting product usage, and resolving potential disputes to strengthen membership compliance and client satisfaction.
- Work closely with internal teams across SIMAH to communicate client requirements and help ensure the right products and services are developed and delivered accurately.
- Meet with members regularly and maintain strong knowledge of SIMAH’s full product and service portfolio in order to present and promote offerings effectively.
- Hold frequent discussions with assigned members to understand their needs and recommend the most suitable solutions.
- Stay well informed about all SIMAH products and services so they can be confidently introduced to both current and prospective members.
Business development support
- Take ownership of assigned accounts and markets, building strong business-focused relationships across all levels of the client organization.
- Analyze the assigned market segment using available market data and identify target clients to support expansion and sales growth.
- Gather information on potential clients to support early analysis of their industry, market conditions, and relevant trends, improving the effectiveness of client meetings.
- Ensure the required marketing and promotional materials are available to support account managers in promoting SIMAH’s products and services.
- Join sales promotion meetings with target clients and prospective members to present SIMAH offerings based on their needs.
- Share relevant information with the wider team to prevent duplicate sales efforts and improve the chances of closing business.
- Remain current on all SIMAH products and services so they can be presented effectively to existing and future members.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communication teams to develop promotional material that supports sales growth.
Assessment of sales effectiveness
- Track performance against agreed targets for the assigned market segment, prepare analytical reports with results and explanations, and identify improvement areas and future growth opportunities to support sales expansion.
- Document client feedback and produce management reports that build business knowledge, align team efforts, and help maximize revenue opportunities.
- Evaluate customer satisfaction and the quality of account management and service delivery, then recommend improvements that better meet client needs and strengthen sales results.
Continuous improvement
- Contribute to improving systems, processes, and practices by considering international best practices, business process improvements, cost reduction, and productivity gains.
Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely reports for SIMAH in line with company and department requirements, policies, and standards.
Safety, quality, and environment
- Follow all applicable safety, quality, and environmental policies and controls to support a healthy and safe workplace.
Other assignments
- Carry out any other related duties or tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree in business or an equivalent field is required. The role also calls for at least 5 years of experience in account management or sales.
