Role Overview
Join the Corporate division as a Business Development Executive in Christchurch and help New Zealand businesses handle foreign exchange and international payments. This role is suited to ambitious early-career sales professionals who want to build a career in financial services.
Reporting to the NZ Sales Director, you will focus on identifying prospective corporate clients, developing qualified opportunities, and creating a strong pipeline that supports new business growth. You will be supported with training, ongoing coaching, and a defined path for professional development. The role involves using multiple platforms and outbound channels to expand reach and convert prospects into opportunities.
Key Duties
- Source fresh business leads through outbound phone outreach, email campaigns, LinkedIn, events, and referrals.
- Maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of qualified corporate prospects in the CRM, with clear next steps and forecasting.
- Lead discovery conversations to understand each client’s foreign exchange exposure, payment activity, and risk management needs.
- Work closely with Corporate Dealers, Credit, and Compliance teams to shape solutions and progress prospects from first trade to an ongoing relationship.
- Deliver on monthly targets for applications, first-time trades, and new business revenue.
- Represent the business at industry events, webinars, and partner-led activities when required.
- Support additional sales projects and initiatives as needed by the company.
- Continue building your sales capability and aim to progress along the Business Development career path.

What You Need
- At least 2 years of experience in outbound sales, business development, or another client-facing role.
- Some familiarity with, or interest in, global markets, interest rates, and how they affect foreign exchange.
- Ability to use technology to widen lead generation efforts and identify buyer intent throughout the conversion funnel.
- A proactive, persistent, and opportunity-driven mindset.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening, adaptability, and clear value articulation.
- Self-driven attitude and a genuine desire to grow a career in sales.
- Good time management and organisational ability.
- A collaborative, positive approach to working in a team.
- Comfort speaking with business owners, CFOs, and senior finance decision-makers, and running discovery calls.
- Experience using a CRM and sales engagement tools for activity tracking, pipeline management, and reporting.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, target-led environment with high levels of activity.
