Job description
Role Overview
Acadnexis Lab is growing its academic publishing business and is looking for a remote Business Development Associate to build connections with universities, scholarly journals, publishers, and research organizations in India and overseas.
The role is suited to someone who has already worked in lead generation and, ideally, understands academic publishing services such as Crossref DOI, ISSN, OJS, and related scholarly publishing workflows.
What You Will Do
- Research universities, academic journals, publishers, and research institutions to uncover new business opportunities.
- Create 20 to 30 qualified leads each working day, which works out to roughly 450 to 600 qualified leads per month.
- Pinpoint the right contacts, including Editors-in-Chief, Managing Editors, Research Directors, Publishers, and Journal Administrators.
- Check and update contact information so the lead database stays accurate and usable.
- Assist outreach efforts through email and LinkedIn.
- Collaborate closely with the founder on business development activities and initiatives.
Ideal Background
Candidates with experience in academic publishing, journal services, educational sales, or B2B lead generation are preferred. Familiarity with Crossref DOI, ISSN, OJS, metadata management, or scholarly publishing will strengthen the profile.
The company is seeking a person who is strong in research, communication, and organization, and who can work independently in a remote setup.
Compensation and Work Setup
This is a remote position open to candidates working from anywhere in India. The monthly in-hand pay is ₹10,000 to ₹12,000, depending on experience and performance.
Successful client conversions are eligible for performance incentives. The role also offers an opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding academic publishing company.
