Role overview

This contract opportunity is for a Business Data Analyst based in Plano, Texas. The position centers on using data to support both day-to-day operations and broader strategic initiatives. The analyst will gather information from multiple sources, study business patterns, and turn findings into clear reporting that helps leaders make informed decisions. Close coordination with different teams is a key part of the role so that business goals stay aligned and performance continues to improve.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this role is $39.00 to $41.00. Hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek may be paid at 1.5 times the base hourly rate, where applicable under law.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect, arrange, and study data drawn from several different sources.
  • Convert raw information into practical insights and build dashboards, reports, and presentations for stakeholders using advanced analytics tools.
  • Track KPIs and other important business measures to evaluate progress and highlight improvement opportunities.
  • Develop data models for analysis and reporting that support operational decisions and broader strategy.
  • Examine the company’s current results, market direction, and industry benchmarks in detail.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to confirm that data pulled from operational systems is accurate.
  • Use data models and forecasting methods to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Recommend business opportunities and cost-efficiency improvements that strengthen competitiveness and operating efficiency.
  • Work with business management, field management, and account management teams to drive strong outcomes.
  • Help departments stay coordinated through clear communication and strong working relationships.
  • Spot process and operational gaps that can be improved through analytics and better workflows.
  • Suggest and implement tools or systems that improve productivity and make reporting more efficient.

Experience and qualifications

  • Typically 2 to 4 years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or comparable position.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, or a related discipline is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced SQL, with about 2 years of professional SQL experience, plus Jupyter Lab and Python.
  • Experience using dashboard and analysis platforms such as SuperSet, Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
  • Exposure to statistical testing, modeling, forecasting, and project management concepts is helpful.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, especially SAP, is considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, communication, and presentation skills are important, along with attention to detail and strong organization.
  • A mindset focused on analysis, strategic planning, teamwork, results, adaptability, and cross-functional collaboration is valued.
