Job description

Your mission

mama health is hiring a Business Data Analyst to work from Berlin. In this position, you will connect the Data Science and Customer Success teams, turning healthcare data into practical insights for pharmaceutical clients.

You will work alongside data scientists to convert analytical results into polished materials for customers, respond to business questions with data, and help clients understand how patients experience care in the real world. The position blends analytics, commercial thinking, and client communication to support strategic decisions.

What you will do

  • Act as the link between Data Science and Customer Success so that analytical work delivers measurable value to clients.
  • Turn business problems into analytical methods and clear, actionable conclusions.
  • Create customer-facing analyses, reports, and presentations from outputs produced by the Data Science team.
  • Build analytical models that help customers better understand patient journeys and treatment experiences.
  • Write efficient SQL queries to retrieve, examine, and check data quality.
  • Use Python for analysis and automation when it adds value.
  • Share findings with internal teams and occasionally join client calls to explain the results.
  • Work closely with Data Science, Customer Success, and the founders to improve how insights are communicated to customers.
  • Spot patterns, trends, and business opportunities in complex healthcare datasets.

Candidate profile

We are looking for someone with 2 to 3 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Consulting, Analytics Consulting, or a closely related role. Strong SQL ability is essential, and Python is considered a strong advantage.

You should bring strong analytical thinking, a structured approach to problem-solving, and solid commercial judgment. Comfort with client interaction and the ability to explain analytical findings in a clear, engaging manner are important. Experience in consulting or another client-facing environment is especially valuable.

The role suits someone who thrives in a fast-moving startup setting, takes ownership seriously, and is curious about healthcare, AI, and patient-centered care. Native-level or bilingual English is required.

Why join mama health

  • Work on a product with strong differentiation: an AI-powered platform designed to improve patient insights for major pharmaceutical companies.
  • Take ownership of work that sits between Data Science and Customer Success and has direct business impact.
  • Contribute to high-impact projects with global life sciences clients.
  • Benefit from rapid learning, meaningful responsibility, and compensation that includes salary plus equity.
  • Join a Berlin-based team with full in-office collaboration, team events, offsites, Wolt dinners, and rides home when working late.
