Role Overview
The Business Consultant - Property & Rating is responsible for delivering professional consulting services based on the Datascape Implementation Methodology to clients across New Zealand. The primary focus is on deploying the Property & Rating modules within the Datascape ERP system tailored for Local Government clients. Engagements may vary from extensive, multi-month projects to brief, one-day assignments.
The role involves some travel for on-site customer engagements, while also supporting flexible work arrangements outside of these commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy the Datascape ERP solution customized to address client business needs adhering to industry best practices.
- Lead and facilitate diverse workshops, managing multiple stakeholder interests and guiding clients to adjust business processes for optimal solutions.
- Conduct requirements analysis ensuring system designs align with policies and the Datascape product capabilities, highlighting any deviations to project management.
- Own the business design for client outcomes, ensure thorough documentation, minimize technical debt, and maintain standard solution practices.
- Configure the Datascape product suite consistent with approved designs and best practices.
- Support testing activities including functional, integration, system integration, user acceptance, and go-live processes, managing defect resolution and outcome validation.
- Provide training on Datascape products and administration to clients, facilitating smooth knowledge transfer and support for train-the-trainer programs.
- Communicate feedback on software usage and potential improvements to the Development team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working within Council environments, especially in Rates processing or Building and Planning functions, is preferred.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into functional requirements and deliver solutions accordingly.
- Capability to conduct effective end-user and application training sessions.
- Hands-on experience with system administration and configuration tasks.
- A strong commitment to customer satisfaction, quality enhancements, and successful outcomes.
- Excellent corporate presentation skills and interpersonal abilities for stakeholder engagement.
- Strong skills in time management, prioritization, negotiation, and organization.
- A collaborative mindset focused on knowledge sharing and teamwork.
- Experience with ERP vendors is an added advantage.
