Role Overview

The Insurance Broking Accounts (IBA) team in Glasgow is seeking a meticulous and organised Banking Process Analyst for a fixed one-year contract. This role provides excellent exposure for those aspiring to develop skills in financial operations, banking, or finance administration. You will be part of a cooperative team, responsible for accurate and timely processing of company and client payments, bank reconciliations, query resolution, and supporting strong financial controls within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify and approve outgoing payments through various banking platforms.
  • Facilitate payments to clients, insurers, suppliers, and partners ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Track daily bank charges and coordinate necessary fund transfers.
  • Process financial journals and transactions adhering to monthly deadlines.
  • Reconcile company and acquisition bank accounts by identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve outstanding banking and reconciliation issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with offshore and finance teams on reconciliation tasks and inquiries.
  • Provide accurate data and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Finance, Treasury, and Operations colleagues.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to internal and external stakeholder inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards in all tasks.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in banking, finance administration, accounts, treasury, payment processing, or reconciliations.
  • Handling company bank accounts and performing financial reconciliation is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Strong organisational abilities to handle multiple duties and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
  • Education to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English.

Additional Information

This position is based in Glasgow with hybrid working arrangements, typically two days onsite one week, three days onsite the next. Applicants should reside within commuting distance of the Glasgow office.
