About OptiGrid

OptiGrid is an energy technology company focused on speeding up fleet electrification through battery-integrated DC fast charging solutions. Its modular platform brings together charging, energy storage, and grid management to reduce the need for expensive infrastructure upgrades and shorten deployment timelines from years to weeks. The company operates across multiple sites in Kansas City, Longmont, and Newark, and as it grows, keeping operations aligned and consistent across locations is a major priority.

This role is a senior, hands-on position that connects business operations, people operations, and workplace leadership across OptiGrid’s facilities in Kansas City, KS; Longmont, CO; and Newark, CA. The person in this role will help build the systems that support scaling, partner closely with leadership on hiring and organizational effectiveness, and help shape employee experience across all offices.

The position is responsible for standardizing operational processes, improving cross-site communication, supporting managers and employees, and helping ensure that each location reflects the professionalism and culture expected of a fast-growing infrastructure company. It combines day-to-day operational execution with strategic support in HR, workforce planning, and continuous improvement.

Business and Operational Leadership

  • Take ownership of core business operations across all sites and keep processes aligned, clear, and accountable.
  • Create and roll out operating standards, workflows, and documentation that can support growth at scale.
  • Work with functional leaders to improve collaboration, execution, and decision-making across teams.
  • Support planning, budget coordination, vendor oversight, and internal controls.
  • Spot operational risks or gaps early and put practical solutions in place.

People Operations and Hiring Support

  • Partner with leadership on recruitment planning, role definition, hiring process design, onboarding, and workforce planning.
  • Improve and maintain a strong onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Support performance management, goal alignment, and management development efforts.
  • Help put scalable people processes in place that build accountability, transparency, and engagement.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for managers on personnel-related operational matters.

Cross-Site Operations and Workplace Management

  • Act as the main operational contact across all OptiGrid facilities.
  • Bring consistency to workplace standards, communication practices, and internal procedures.
  • Identify differences between sites and coordinate efforts to resolve them.
  • Work with leadership to strengthen communication between locations and reduce silos.
  • Support operational readiness, planning, and follow-through on execution.
  • Oversee daily workplace operations, including facilities, vendors, safety, and employee experience.
  • Make sure every site is supported, compliant, and aligned with company standards.
  • Coordinate site-level needs and improvements as the primary point of contact.
  • Assist with office expansions, relocations, and space planning as the company grows.

HR and People Initiatives

  • Work with leadership on HR initiatives such as onboarding, performance management, engagement, and culture building.
  • Set up a standardized onboarding process that works across all locations.
  • Help design and implement people processes that support growth and accountability.
  • Act as a contact for managers and employees on workplace and personnel matters.
  • Coordinate with external HR partners or internal stakeholders when needed.

Facilities and Workplace Standards

  • Ensure each facility meets OptiGrid’s standards for professionalism, safety, and functionality.
  • Manage coordination around leases, vendors, maintenance, utilities, and service providers.
  • Oversee office transitions, moves, and build-outs.
  • Work with local facility managers where relevant to keep operations aligned.
  • Handle vendor onboarding, contracts, renewals, and service quality follow-up.

Operational Coordination and Leadership Support

  • Support operations leadership with scheduling, tracking initiatives, and following up on action items.
  • Maintain visibility on cross-functional operational commitments.
  • Help with internal reporting and operational readiness efforts.
  • Improve clarity around priorities across sites.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in business operations, HR operations, or a similar leadership position.
  • Experience managing operations across more than one site or location.
  • Background supporting hiring and growth in a scaling organization.
  • Solid understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle support, including onboarding, performance, and engagement.
  • Strong ability to organize work and build efficient processes.
  • Comfort with identifying problems and making improvements proactively.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities across different time zones.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and operational tracking systems.

Preferred Background

  • Experience in a fast-growing startup, manufacturing, or hardware environment.
  • Experience building internal processes across multiple locations.
  • Ability to coordinate stakeholders across different functions.
  • Comfort moving from coordination work into full ownership as the company grows.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through in day-to-day office and operational tasks.
