Business Analyst

About the role

Dawn InfoTek Inc. is an IT consulting organization that works with large banks, investment firms, and public sector clients. The company provides technology consulting services and supports recruitment of IT talent across all levels for its clients. They are hiring a Business Analyst for a major banking client in a hands-on delivery environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, interpret, and record business needs as well as functional specifications.
• Collaborate throughout the project lifecycle with business users, developers, QA teams, and product groups.
• Examine and document how data moves across APIs, web applications, databases, and user interfaces.
• Define API input/output mappings, verify them, and help maintain data accuracy across connected systems.
• Prepare and keep up to date functional documents, process diagrams, use cases, and mapping artifacts.
• Review forms in detail, including field-level rules, validation logic, and end-to-end data movement.
• Contribute to solution design conversations and make sure business needs are reflected correctly in technical solutions.
• Take part in requirement walkthroughs, UAT activities, and defect review discussions.
• Support testing efforts by reviewing test cases and checking that business requirements are properly covered.

Required qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of experience working as a Business Analyst on web application initiatives.
• Proven experience producing business and functional requirement documentation.
• Solid understanding of web applications and how systems integrate.
• Experience defining data movement between APIs, databases, and user-facing interfaces.
• Good grasp of database fundamentals and relationships between data entities.
• Ability to analyze forms, field mappings, and validation logic.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.

Preferred experience

• Exposure to REST APIs and API documentation platforms such as Swagger or Postman.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational database querying.
• Background in testing activities such as functional, integration, or user acceptance testing.
• Experience in Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
• Prior work on data migration or system integration efforts will be considered an advantage.
