Job description

Role Overview

The Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) division is looking for a skilled analyst to join their Business and Customer Analytics team. This position involves generating insightful business intelligence that guides partner decisions and company-wide strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver data-centric, actionable insights to support senior leadership and critical partner groups.
  • Engage in strategic planning discussions and help formulate business hypotheses.
  • Examine business drivers such as promotions, pricing, product offerings, and customer behaviors using third-party competitive analysis tools and data science models.
  • Lead analytical projects from conception to execution by coordinating with various stakeholder teams.
  • Identify and remedy gaps in existing analytical processes and reporting in collaboration with business partners.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance decision-making through improved analytics.
  • Clearly communicate complex datasets and analysis via written reports and presentations.
  • Mentor junior analysts by sharing best practices and expertise in analytics.
  • Translate intricate data insights for various organizational levels to drive actionable outcomes.
  • Effectively present findings and respond to inquiries during meetings involving leadership.
  • Demonstrate analytical curiosity by investigating underlying causes behind data trends.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards using tools like QuickSight or Tableau to facilitate self-serve access to performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or comparable analytical role.
  • Proficient in Excel and Tableau, including data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables, with at least 3 years of usage.
  • Experience working with SQL.
  • Proven capability to make business recommendations and influence stakeholders.
  • Skill at defining requirements and extracting business insights from data and metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in fields such as finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • Experience in data science, business analytics, business intelligence, or working in large-scale data settings.
  • Track record building strategic partnerships across teams and functional areas.
  • Background in financial analysis, retail buying/planning, product/project management, marketing, business development, consulting, negotiation, or supply chain.
  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques.
  • Strong analytical aptitude, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Base salary range for Seattle, WA location: 82700 to 130100 USD per year.
