Job overview
We are hiring a seasoned Business Analyst who understands the retail and fashion sector well and can support a fast-growing team. In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to capture needs, study current processes, and help deliver business and digital transformation work successfully.
Location and work setup
This role can be based in Trivandrum, Kochi, or performed remotely from India.
Experience and notice period
Candidates should bring 8+ years of experience. People who can join immediately are preferred.
Key responsibilities
You will be expected to lead requirement discovery, document business needs, and support delivery across the project lifecycle. The role also involves working with different teams to improve retail and fashion processes, clarify solutions, and ensure business goals are met.
- Collect, analyze, and record business needs from stakeholders.
- Run workshops, interviews, and other requirement discovery sessions.
- Prepare and maintain BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, and process flow diagrams.
- Review current retail and fashion operations and suggest process improvements.
- Work closely with business users, product teams, developers, QA teams, and project managers.
- Convert business needs into functional details and acceptance criteria.
- Support UAT, manage defects, and coordinate business approval/sign-off.
- Track requirements across the full project lifecycle.
- Assist Agile teams with backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirement clarifications.
- Join solution design discussions and keep solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare project documents, status reports, and stakeholder updates.
Required skills and experience
The ideal candidate should have strong business analysis capability in the retail/fashion space, along with solid communication and problem-solving skills. Experience with Agile delivery and commonly used collaboration tools is also important.
- At least 8 years of business analysis experience.
- Deep exposure to retail and fashion/apparel domains.
- Strong background in requirement gathering, stakeholder coordination, and process analysis.
- Good understanding of retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, supply chain, order management, POS, and omnichannel e-commerce.
- Experience producing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process maps, and use cases.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Preferred background
Additional advantage will be given to candidates who have worked with fashion, apparel, lifestyle, or retail brands, and those familiar with enterprise systems, reporting tools, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with fashion, apparel, lifestyle, or retail brands.
- Exposure to ERP, OMS, WMS, CRM, or retail management systems.
- Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
- Experience contributing to digital transformation programs.
- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or an equivalent certification is beneficial.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. An MBA or relevant business analysis certification is preferred.
