About the Role
A reputable software enterprise is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst with over 12 years of professional experience to aid in product development and quality assurance efforts within an Agile framework. Located in Calgary, Alberta, this contract position involves hybrid onsite work aligned with Mountain Standard Time (MST).
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit and document detailed business requirements from stakeholders.
- Develop user stories, define acceptance criteria, and draft functional specifications essential for development.
- Work closely with Product Management, Development, and QA teams to ensure alignment throughout the Agile software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Actively contribute to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Execute various testing activities including functional testing, regression testing, defect management, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Identify potential risks and dependencies in projects and provide recommendations to mitigate issues.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Practical hands-on experience with quality assurance processes such as functional, regression, and UAT testing.
- Thorough understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) and the complete software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally.
- Strong analytical skills complemented by excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience managing requirements for complex, enterprise-grade software products.
Preferred Credentials
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or ISTQB.
- Background in SaaS platforms and API integration projects.
