Job description
Role Summary
Reporting to the Director of Development, this contract position entails spearheading business process enhancements within the Planning Department to boost operational effectiveness and service quality. The role involves leading data-driven initiatives through detailed research and analysis, as well as managing internal protocols related to planning applications. The successful candidate will deliver strategic guidance to foster ongoing quality advancement, lead process modernization efforts, and ensure efficient utilization of AMANDA and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of departmental workflows and trends to design and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Create and manage dashboards and reports to monitor vital performance indicators.
- Serve as the primary Planning Department liaison for AMANDA system projects and upgrades.
- Perform business process mapping and workflow assessments to identify system and process enhancements.
- Develop and facilitate training programs and resource materials for both internal team members and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to optimize planning system performance and integration.
- Act as AMANDA super user, delivering frontline support while overseeing user permissions and data integrity.
- Oversee consultant-driven projects including Requests for Proposal (RFPs), budget management, and project coordination.
- Support strategic planning by analyzing data trends and emerging issues.
Candidate Profile
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology, Planning, GIS, or a related discipline.
- Three to five years of relevant business analysis expertise, particularly focusing on data analysis, system integration, and process improvements within municipal or planning environments.
- Strong knowledge of business analysis frameworks, data visualization tools, and municipal planning processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of working autonomously and cooperating effectively across departments.
Working Conditions and Compensation
The position requires a flexible work schedule including remote, office presence, and occasional after-hours work. The salary range is from $87,912.40 to $109,890.50 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates must successfully complete a criminal record check and provide evidence of qualifications.
