About Alleaves
Alleaves offers a cannabis-focused Point of Sale (POS), inventory management, delivery, and compliance platform designed to support licensed dispensaries across regulated markets within the United States. Our technology streamlines cannabis retail operations while integrating directly with state regulatory and traceability systems. As the cannabis sector continues to expand and evolve, our mission is to develop software that enhances dispensary efficiency and compliance.
Role Overview
We seek a Business Analyst to collaborate closely with our Product Manager, translating support escalations and regulatory updates into well-defined development tasks. This mid-level position demands a candidate with several years of relevant experience, capable of working autonomously and adept at prioritizing urgent needs. The role involves daily coordination with engineering, customer experience teams, and integration partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft clear, structured Jira tickets that encompass user stories, bugs, and specific tasks, complete with acceptance criteria; maintain and prioritize the product backlog efficiently.
- Manage and triage customer issues escalated through Zendesk, meticulously document reproductions, identify recurring problems, and convert them into prioritized tasks for product and engineering teams.
- Oversee third-party integration channels, track issues reported by partners, and ensure appropriate internal follow-up.
- Stay informed on industry developments and regulatory shifts impacting the product and customers, summarizing crucial updates for internal teams.
- Gather and document detailed requirements, map both current and future workflows, and propose improvements.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and verify the functionality of fixes and new features before deployment.
- Assist the Product Manager in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ensuring release preparedness.
Work Approach
- Exhibit sound judgment prioritizing quality over quantity, leveraging AI and other tools to accelerate workflow.
- Verify information with primary sources, especially concerning regulatory and customer-facing matters.
- Maintain focus on clear ticket scopes, avoid assumptions by flagging uncertainties.
- Produce concise, well-organized ticket documentation with appropriate detail levels.
- Communicate issues or risks promptly and transparently.
- Handle live system changes carefully, ensuring accuracy in tools like Jira.
Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in business analysis, product or project coordination, customer support operations, or analogous roles.
- Proven capability to independently manage responsibilities and balance competing priorities.
- Strong analytical thinking combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience documenting requirements or workflows and collaborating across diverse teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the judgment to identify when further review is necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Skills
- Practical experience with tools such as Jira, Zendesk, and Confluence.
- Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with SQL, Excel, or business intelligence/reporting software.
- Experience or knowledge of cannabis tech, retail POS systems, or regulated industries; understanding of compliance/traceability systems like Metrc offers an advantage but is not required.
- Certifications in business analysis such as ECBA, CBAP, or CSPO are a plus.
Perks & Benefits
- Fully remote working environment within the United States.
- Opportunity to work in the fast-growing cannabis technology sector.
- Employment with an industry-leading cannabis POS software provider.
- Employer covers 100% of employee health insurance expenses.
- Comprehensive benefits including 401(k) plan, paid birthday off, and unlimited paid time off.
