Job description

Role overview

This role sits within Amazon FinOps and supports the Collections Quality Control and Governance group. The position is suited to an analytics professional who can work with very large datasets, strengthen data and analytics capabilities, and help shape AI-led operational approaches that perform well in changing business conditions.

You will play an influential role on the team by helping set priorities, interpreting stakeholder expectations, thinking broadly when proposing solutions, and handling uncertainty with confidence. The role also involves validating assumptions and advising leaders on milestones and prioritization.

Core responsibilities

Data analytics and AI-based risk mitigation

  • Create moderately to highly complex data-processing workflows using SQL, Python, and related tools.
  • Use AI and machine learning methods for predictive analysis, anomaly identification, and pattern discovery in quality-control data.
  • Apply AI-assisted text mining and analytics to surface key business insights and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop statistically sound forecasting models for operational drivers and related metrics using AI/ML techniques.
  • Design risk identification, monitoring, and automated mitigation actions with internal AI tools/MCP.
  • Build complete AI solutions covering ingestion, model training, testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Partner with Product, Software Engineering, and Data Engineering teams to embed AI outputs into automated workflows.

Quality control and governance

  • Create reliable dashboards that monitor operational KPIs and collections-quality goals across processes, channels, and teams.
  • Examine customer behavior and process data to detect defect patterns and improvement opportunities.
  • Look into data irregularities, identify root causes, and propose alternate measurement methods when needed.
  • Translate historical trends and operational metrics into clear, practical, and decision-ready reports.
  • Develop a controllership risk-scoring and health-monitoring system by linking policy, SOP, and official documents with technical controls and operational GRC controls.

Stakeholder partnership and business intelligence

  • Work with stakeholders to understand the business context, expectations, and requirements for collections-quality operations.
  • Support global FinOps teams with reporting, ad hoc analysis, statistical inference, and predictive modeling.
  • Coordinate with source-system owners to understand system strengths and constraints.
  • Connect data to business processes through strong interpretation and analysis skills.

Project management

  • Own timelines and deliverables for active projects, identifying risks early and removing blockers.
  • Guide leaders and stakeholders on milestone planning and priority decisions.
  • Lead continuous-improvement workstreams using AI automation and advanced analytics.

Required experience and qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience building financial and operational reports or datasets that support business decisions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or Python.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics, statistics, data engineering, data science, or a closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience creating automations with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Glue, Redshift, QuickSuite, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
  • At least 1 year of experience building AI-driven risk automation, quality control, anomaly detection, or defect prediction using self-serve AI tools.
  • Strong experience with data modeling, SQL, ETL, data warehousing, and data lakes, along with advanced SQL proficiency.
  • Experience using APIs to pull data from applications and pass it into AI/LLM tools for insights or actions.
  • Strong Python skills are mandatory, along with hands-on use of AI/ML libraries in business analytics.
  • Knowledge of common tools such as Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL, and VBA.
  • Good understanding of engineering and operations best practices such as version control, data quality testing, and monitoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize findings clearly for both business and technical audiences.
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to continuous-improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • At least 2 years of UiPath RPA development experience at an expert level.
  • Background in collections, accounts receivable, or quality assurance for financial operations.
  • Experience with NLP for text analytics.
  • Exposure to statistical modeling and predictive-analytics platforms.

Technical skills

  • AWS cloud services including Lambda, Glue, Redshift, S3, SageMaker, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
  • AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Data visualization platforms such as QuickSight, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
  • ETL design and data-pipeline development.

Preferred qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to team-level continuous-improvement initiatives that improved controllership with measurable outcomes.
  • At least 2 years of expert-level UiPath development experience.
  • Experience in collections, accounts receivable, or financial operations quality assurance.
  • Experience using NLP for text analytics.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling and predictive analytics platforms.
  • Advanced SQL and Python programming ability.
  • Exposure to the same AWS, AI/ML, visualization, and ETL technologies listed above.
