Role overview
This position focuses on strengthening the pricing analytics work for a grocery retail category team at Whole Foods Market. The person in this role will help shape category pricing direction by turning data into practical recommendations, supporting business stakeholders, and explaining pricing insights in a clear, non-technical way.
What you'll do
- Review category pricing data and suggest price updates using pricing tools.
- Work with pricing and merchandising leaders to set financial goals and competitive pricing rules.
- Train and support business partners in using pricing analytics systems effectively.
- Prepare and deliver analytical findings for merchandising leadership.
- Assess how well past pricing decisions performed.
- Handle one-off pricing analysis requests as needed.
- Share pricing patterns and business insights with different teams.
- Build category-focused analytical reports and tools.

The role uses a range of metrics, objectives, and performance goals to create pricing recommendations for merchant stakeholders.

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven ability to define business requirements and use data and metrics to generate insights.
- Working knowledge of BI and data visualization tools such as Quick Sight, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Excel or SQL is preferred.
- Ability to work with very large datasets is preferred.
- Background in financial analysis or business analysis is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical partners.
- Retail experience and solid communication skills are important for success in this role.
Compensation and benefits
The base pay for this role in Austin, Texas is USD 55,800 to 97,600 per year. The total package may also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units. Final pay depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
