The team is made up of motivated, collaborative people who value each other’s contribution and work together toward outcomes that benefit the wider business.

Role overview

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out analysis and research to create a shared understanding between business teams and the delivery team around deadlines, requirements, and expected outcomes, while documenting the current and future business processes.

  • Break larger initiatives and features into user stories small enough to be completed within a single sprint.
  • Strengthen the team’s commercial awareness so they understand the purpose behind each initiative, feature, and story, with an emphasis on solving user problems while keeping the broader context in mind.
  • Work with the team to shape, improve, and prioritise backlog items, ensuring user stories have clear acceptance criteria and deliver maximum business value.
  • Maintain and manage development backlogs and actively participate in Agile activities such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
  • Help coordinate and actively contribute to testing of new and existing systems so they provide the intended user value, and support the team in delivering initiatives and features against agreed OKRs.
  • Work closely with developers and testers throughout delivery to keep progress on track and ensure they have the support needed to deliver business priorities in the right sequence.
  • Follow Miller’s policies, procedures, training, systems, and controls, and ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and financial crime obligations.
  • Observe all external requirements applicable to the role, including Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
  • Represent Miller positively and consistently reinforce the company’s brand and values in the market.
