Business Analyst - Energy Retail

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support and drive energy retail initiatives within complex business and technological landscapes. The successful candidate will help Australian organisations establish reliable data foundations and realize practical commercial outcomes with a hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders, delivery teams, architects, developers, testers, and vendors to gather, analyze, document, and manage business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions to clarify and align objectives.
• Create comprehensive business analyst artifacts such as process maps, user stories, business requirements documents, and impact assessments.
• Translate complex business demands into feasible solution options that work effectively in practice.
• Assist in solution design, estimation, prioritization, and delivery planning activities.
• Conduct impact assessments, gap analyses, and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, defect triage, and business readiness processes.
• Maintain focus on delivering clear, practical, and commercially beneficial business outcomes.

Candidate Profile

• At least seven years of experience working as a Business Analyst, with a minimum of five years within the Energy & Utilities sector.
• Deep knowledge of energy retail operations including customer onboarding, billing, payments, concessions, hardship management, and customer service workflows.
• Excellent skills in workshop facilitation and managing diverse stakeholder groups.
• Proven ability to collaborate across leadership, business, delivery, and vendor teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to distill complex requirements into actionable and understandable delivery objectives.
• A structured, inquisitive nature with a focus on achieving outcomes.
