Business Analyst - Banking & Financial Services

About the Role

Lewis James Professional, a woman-owned consultancy specializing in staff augmentation, project consulting, and direct hire placements, is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a financial services client team. This role involves collaborating across various departments to enhance business processes and ensure project requirements are clearly defined and met.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document both functional and technical requirements for projects across multiple business units.
• Collaborate with department heads, operations staff, and IT teams to identify business needs, drive process enhancements, and define solution specifications.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive business requirement documents, process flow diagrams, and workflows as part of project initiatives.
• Track the progress of projects, highlight any concerns, and provide regular updates along with recommendations to project leaders and stakeholders.
• Work closely with technical teams to support the design and implementation of solutions, ensuring the accurate translation of business requirements into technical deliverables.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of five years’ experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within the banking or financial services industry.
• Knowledgeable about regulatory, compliance, and risk management standards applicable to financial institutions.
• Proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams from both business and technology sectors on complex projects.
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, complemented by strong teamwork capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project.
