Role Overview
This contract Business Analyst position supports a centralized IT Identity and Access Management (IAM) team in Massachusetts. The role focuses on helping shape, launch, and continuously improve IAM services so they stay secure, dependable, and compliant with university and regulatory requirements. The analyst works closely with business partners, end users, vendors, and technical teams to identify priorities, capture needs, and turn them into practical functional requirements and maintainable solutions.
The position reports to the IAM Associate Director, who owns the Identity Data service. It also involves contributing to product planning, testing, documentation, training, and operational support, while keeping an eye on industry direction, product roadmaps, and upcoming capabilities.
Engagement Terms
The client can currently engage only W2 candidates, and applicants must be either U.S. citizens or Green Card permanent residents. The assignment is expected to run for 12 months to start.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with product management and the full product delivery cycle by gathering requirements, analyzing needs, creating Jira items such as stories and bugs, and partnering with engineering and QA teams through development, testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Support the change management process by preparing and submitting change requests, including business rationale and impact analysis, and working with the change advisory board through the approval process.
- Coordinate releases by setting schedules, confirming that engineers complete the release playbook, running go/no-go meetings, and updating change records with the final release results.
- Create presentation materials and slide decks to brief stakeholder groups on IAM initiatives and progress.
- Help migrate, consolidate, and reorganize internal IAM documentation across platforms such as Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint, and Confluence.
- Perform access audits for IAM applications.
- Provide broader business analysis support across multiple IAM workstreams as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of post-secondary education or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels.
- Strong communication abilities, with experience translating between technical teams and non-technical business partners.
- Sound critical-thinking skills and a practical, adaptable approach to solving problems.
- Comfort working in a changing environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong organizational habits and careful attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of basic SQL querying and reporting.
Additional Information
This position sits within the centralized Information Technology IAM team and is tied to the Identity Data service. The work spans service design, implementation, ongoing support, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include documentation handling, stakeholder communication, release coordination, and access audit activities. The role also supports incident and request resolution within defined service-level expectations.
