Job description
Role overview
This is a permanent Business Analyst position focused on AI-enabled business improvement work for a respected organisation in Christchurch. The assignment offers the chance to contribute to high-visibility projects that support operational effectiveness, with some hybrid flexibility and an immediate start.
You will be involved in two major initiatives that combine process improvement, reporting enhancement, data quality uplift, and digital transformation. The work suits someone who enjoys variety, influencing outcomes, and shaping practical solutions in a fast-moving environment.
What you will be doing
Your main focus will be supporting the identification and delivery of AI initiatives. This will involve running workshops, collecting and refining requirements, documenting workflows, and providing analysis across the full project lifecycle.
You will also work closely with development teams to make sure solutions are aligned with business needs and are suitable for real-world use. A big part of the role will be engaging different stakeholders, unpacking complex issues, and turning business needs into clear actions and outcomes.
Key experience and capabilities
The ideal candidate will bring experience as a Technical Business Analyst in medium to large organisations, along with strong skills in gathering requirements, facilitating workshops, and mapping processes.
You should have experience identifying process improvements and operational efficiencies, and recent exposure to AI work is important. That experience may be direct commercial experience or closely related adjacent experience.
Strong stakeholder management is essential, particularly when working across both technical and non-technical teams. You should also be comfortable working independently and balancing multiple priorities at once.
Additional information
This is a permanent role with hybrid flexibility and an immediate start. The organisation is offering the opportunity to work on meaningful AI opportunities with broad visibility across the business. The position includes autonomy, scope to contribute ideas, and the chance to influence practical business outcomes.
