Job description

Overview

This permanent position sits within a growing investment management firm and brings together business analysis, AI, and change delivery. The role is designed for someone who can spot where AI can add value, shape workable solutions, and help deliver practical initiatives that improve productivity, decisions, and day-to-day workflows across the organisation.

The position is not focused on pure engineering or data science. Instead, it centres on understanding business needs, capturing requirements, designing sensible AI-enabled solutions, and building proofs of concept, tools, or lightweight AI agents. You will work across several business units, partnering with stakeholders and technology teams while reporting into IT.

The business is investing in AI and wants a commercially minded professional who can communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, work across a broad organisation, and help embed AI in a practical and value-driven way.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with teams across the business to uncover opportunities where AI can streamline processes, solve operational issues, lift efficiency, or improve decision-making using tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and Claude.
  • Elicit, document, and refine requirements for AI-related work across different functions.
  • Convert business problems into tangible AI use cases, proofs of concept, and lightweight tools or agents.
  • Review existing workflows and propose AI-based improvements that are realistic, scalable, and aligned to business priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal technology teams and, where needed, external providers to support implementation and delivery.
  • Help build and prioritise a pipeline of internal AI initiatives spanning multiple business areas.
  • Serve as a dependable advisor on how AI capabilities can be applied to practical business challenges.
  • Support rollout, adoption, and day-to-day embedding of AI solutions so users are comfortable with new ways of working.
  • Encourage effective use of AI tools and platforms already available within the business.
  • Strike the right balance between innovation and control, helping the organisation move quickly while keeping oversight sensible.

Desired experience

Strong experience in investment management, financial services, wealth management, or another professional and commercially focused environment is preferred. Experience in a lean, fast-moving, or growth-oriented business would also be valuable, as would experience working with IT teams and external technology vendors.
