Job description
About the Company
Headquartered in India, PhonePe launched its flagship digital payments app in August 2016. By April 2025, the platform had grown to more than 60 crore (600 million) registered users and a merchant acceptance network spanning over 4 crore (40+ million) merchants. The company handles over 33 crore (330+ million) transactions each day and reports an annualized total payment value (TPV) of more than INR 150 lakh crore.
PhonePe’s business portfolio extends beyond payments to include financial products such as insurance, lending, and wealth, along with consumer technology offerings like Pincode, a hyperlocal e-commerce platform, and Indus AppStore, a localized Android app store. Its larger mission is to help every Indian move forward by improving access to money and services.

Role Overview
This role is focused on analytics for the lending business and requires a professional who can work with data, uncover meaningful patterns, and translate findings into business decisions. The position involves defining metrics, diagnosing performance, generating insights, and helping guide interventions for the pod.
What You Will Do

- Partner with business and product teams to convert business challenges into clear analytical questions.
- Own the full insight-generation process, including detailed analysis and evidence-backed conclusions.
- Go beyond reporting by contributing ideas to improve key metrics and then validating those ideas with data.
- Serve as the analytics and visualization subject matter expert for the team and help build dashboards that are easy to use.
- Mentor fellow analysts and contribute to hiring as well as onboarding of new team members.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 2 years of overall analytics experience, including 1 year in the lending domain.
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability.
- Genuine curiosity about the business and how the product works.
- Ability to write advanced SQL queries and work with multiple data sources for dashboards and analysis.
- Comfort handling large datasets and drawing meaningful conclusions from them.
- Strong command of Excel and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Working knowledge of data analysis languages such as R and Python, along with core statistical concepts.
- Machine learning model-building experience is a plus, but not required.
- Clear communication skills, both spoken and written, with the ability to explain the reasoning behind analysis.
- Candidates who can clearly tell the story behind their analysis will have an advantage.
Benefits
- Medical insurance, critical illness cover, accidental insurance, and life insurance.
- Employee assistance program, onsite medical center, and emergency support system.
- Maternity benefit, paternity benefit program, adoption assistance, and day-care support.
- Relocation support, transfer support policy, and travel policy.
- Employee PF contribution, flexible PF contribution, gratuity, NPS, and leave encashment.
- Higher education assistance, car lease option, and salary advance policy.
