Job description
Role Overview
This role involves spearheading the strategy, execution, and results of restaurant and retail partner acquisition for a food and e-commerce platform. The successful candidate will lead and grow a team of over 10 Business Acquisition Specialists, establish goals, and drive activities such as lead generation, outreach, onboarding, and negotiations to achieve measurable growth in partner supply, gross merchandise value (GMV), and assortment. Besides acquisition, the position also oversees the partner success team helping SME merchants expand on the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop annual and quarterly acquisition roadmaps targeting specific verticals, regions, partner segments, and assortment gaps aligned with company objectives.
- Define team structures and individual/team targets; recruit, mentor, and foster the growth of Specialists and Business Development Managers.
- Coordinate acquisition plans with Marketing, Partnerships, Operations, and Category teams for unified efforts.
- Supervise lead generation and pipeline maintenance with disciplined CRM (Salesforce) use and accurate forecasting.
- Directly negotiate and close strategic or high-value partner agreements including major chains and key partners.
- Establish commercial negotiation frameworks for the team to operate within.
- Manage partner onboarding processes focusing on minimizing time-to-live, ensuring document precision, and maintaining partner satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Operations and Product teams to streamline partner activation on the platform.
- Monitor market trends and untapped opportunities, integrating findings into acquisition strategy adjustments.
- Track and report key performance indicators including new active partners on-boarded by segment and area, GMV contribution from new partners, partner retention, churn, and satisfaction metrics.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum six years in business development, sales, or partnership roles with at least two years in a leadership capacity; prior involvement in q-commerce, e-commerce, or related sectors is highly desirable.
- Proven success in building and scaling sales or business development teams with a track record of meeting ambitious growth goals.
- Strong negotiating skills, comfortable handling complex, high-stakes deals.
- Proficiency with CRM systems like Salesforce and ability to manage pipelines through data insights.
- In-depth understanding of the local market and competitive landscape.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related discipline.
- Arabic language proficiency is a considerable advantage.
