Role Overview
Calor Ireland presents a permanent opportunity within their Bulk Operations Department for a Bulk Delivery Driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering multiple types of fuels, including LPG and LNG, to domestic, industrial, and commercial clients. The role operates on a rotational shift system covering early morning, daytime, and afternoon shifts, working five days out of seven, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough health and safety checks of the vehicle before and after shifts.
- Deliver fuels such as LPG, LNG, and others safely and accurately using company procedures for single or multi-drop routes.
- Drive responsibly, adhering strictly to highway codes and safety regulations.
- Utilize onboard computer systems to log deliveries and maintain precise records.
- Participate in scheduled training and assessments to maintain and enhance skills.
- Refuel vehicles in accordance with established refueling processes.
- Keep vehicles, including interior cabs, clean and tidy.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or safety issues immediately following company guidelines.
- Complete all necessary near-miss incident reports.
- Present driving licenses upon request for inspection.
- Manage daily administrative tasks and submit reports at the conclusion of shifts.
- Comply with all protocols specified in driver's and training manuals.
- Assist with the training of other drivers as needed.
- Remain flexible to work outside regular hours, including emergency calls.
- Communicate effectively and clearly with colleagues and customers.
- Perform minor yard duties when required.
- Support fellow drivers by acting as a helper when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to legal limits on driving hours and breaks, operating within tachograph and working time directives.
- Demonstrate flexibility for early starts (as early as 4:00 AM) and late starts (from 6:00 PM).
- Operate all technological equipment and systems installed in trucks.
- Commit to delivering outstanding customer experience by embodying Calor’s core values and maintaining high standards of accountability and service quality.
- Prioritize health and safety by actively engaging in safety conversations, identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or acts to prevent injuries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Transport Manager.
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven minimum of 2 years’ experience driving Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV).
- Possess a clean and valid HGV license suitable for rigid or articulated tankers.
- Hold a valid ADR certificate for bulk gases covering packages and tanks.
- Possess Driver CPC qualification along with a Digital Tachograph Card and up-to-date CPC modules.
- Demonstrated experience with both single and multi-drop deliveries.
- Certificates in Manual Handling and Working at Height are required.
- Sound knowledge and awareness of health and safety regulations.
- Full understanding and compliance with Tachograph Regulations concerning driving hours and mandatory breaks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with digital logistics systems considered an advantage.
- A customer-focused mindset, ensuring empathy and responsiveness to client needs.
- Good working knowledge of the geography within the Republic of Ireland.
- Product familiarity with LPG and LNG fuels is advantageous.
- Educational requirement: proficiency in English (spoken and written) and a good standard of Mathematics, ideally equivalent to the Leaving Certificate or similar.
