Job description

Role overview

Brown & Brown Ireland is looking for a recent graduate to join its Farm First team in Mallow as a Broker-In-Training. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity within a specialist insurance broking environment that works across personal lines, farm, and commercial insurance.

The farm team consists of 15 colleagues and manages more than 2,700 farm policies, accounting for 10% of the farm broker market. The team works with four farm insurers: Aviva, Zurich, iSure, and Axa. Because the role sits at the point where personal and commercial insurance overlap, it offers strong exposure to insurance operations and can serve as a useful foundation for a future move into commercial insurance.

Key responsibilities

You will support the day-to-day servicing of existing clients, helping ensure their insurance needs are handled efficiently and professionally. The role involves preparing renewals, comparing renewal options, responding to client queries, and taking care of changes during the policy term.

You will also manage incoming requests such as claims reporting, follow-up actions, and quotations for new business opportunities. A key part of the role is carrying out careful risk checks, identifying suitable markets, and recommending appropriate cover solutions. Accurate record keeping and clear file notes are important, including maintaining documentation in line with internal system procedures such as Applied Relay.

In addition, you will contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment and help deliver a solution-focused service culture.

What the employer is looking for

The ideal candidate is a recent graduate who is interested in building a customer-facing career in insurance broking. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important, along with a genuine customer-first approach.

You should bring strong attention to detail, an enquiring mindset, and the ability to work well with others. Good time management, reliability, productivity, and a willingness to take initiative are all valued in this role.

What is offered

Brown & Brown highlights a supportive team culture, ongoing professional development, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a growing and dynamic business. The package is described as competitive and includes salary and benefits.
