Job description
Role overview
This full-time, studio-based role in Auckland is focused on making sure live broadcast content reaches audiences accurately, on schedule, and without interruption. You will lead the master control room (MCR) function and support adjacent Presentation and Media activities, helping maintain technical quality and smooth day-to-day broadcast delivery.
Entain is a global sports betting, gaming, and entertainment business behind brands such as Ladbrokes and neds in Australia, and TAB, betcha, Trackside, and Sport Nation in New Zealand. The environment is fast-moving, high-energy, and centered on live experiences that reach large audiences.
What the role is responsible for
This position sits at the heart of live broadcast operations as the final quality checkpoint before content goes to customers. The team leader is expected to guide the group through live and scheduled delivery, strengthen operational standards, and keep the workflow stable in a 24/7 setting.
Key accountabilities
- Direct daily MCR activity so all scheduled and live broadcasts go out on time, accurately, and to the expected technical standard.
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of operators by giving clear direction, supporting development, and managing performance.
- Handle circuit scheduling, feed oversight, and signal-quality checks so incoming and outgoing content meets technical needs.
- Step in as the main escalation contact during live incidents, using calm judgment to solve issues and reduce disruption.
- Refine workflows, records, and operating procedures to improve consistency, quality control, and efficiency.
Experience and capabilities needed
You should bring leadership experience from a live broadcast, MCR, or media operations setting, with direct responsibility for people management, delivery standards, and everyday operations. Practical knowledge of broadcast systems, MCR processes, and live content playout is important, along with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure and make fast, sensible decisions in real time. The role also requires confidence in shift-based environments and strong coordination skills.
Preferred background
It would be an advantage to have exposure to end-to-end production workflows and outside broadcast setups. Experience in sports, racing, or live event broadcasting is also useful, as is familiarity with operating across multiple channels or broadcast brands.
What you can expect
- Competitive pay with attractive benefits, including retailer discounts.
- Personal days off to help balance work and life.
- Opportunities to strengthen leadership, broadcast operations management, and process-improvement skills across MCR, Presentation, and Media.
- Exposure to Trackside, Sport Nation, live racing, and sports broadcasts, while working alongside production teams, outside broadcast crews, and external partners.
- A close, experienced team that values hands-on leadership, direct communication, and working together during live operations.
- Wellbeing support, Southern Cross Health Insurance, free breakfast and snacks, plus a modern office space with a pool table and sports on TVs.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old because the business operates in the wagering sector. The recruitment process may include a Talent team conversation, interviews with the hiring team, or a role-related task. Entain welcomes people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, and adjustments can be provided during hiring if needed.
