Role Overview
The Breakfast Cook position entails preparing and cooking breakfast dishes according to established hotel standards, ensuring punctual and visually appealing presentation. This full-time, on-site role requires managing the breakfast buffet setup and upkeep, monitoring freshness and quality of food, and adhering strictly to safety and sanitation protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and operate kitchen appliances to cook various breakfast items.
- Maintain the breakfast buffet by replenishing items as needed during service.
- Ensure food quality and safety by following proper storage, handling, and cooking procedures.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene standards.
- Coordinate effectively with food service personnel including servers and front desk staff to deliver excellent guest experiences.
- Assist management with inventory checks, receiving supplies, and occasionally updating the breakfast menu.
Candidate Qualifications
- Proven experience in breakfast or short-order cooking, preferably in hotels or food service establishments.
- Comprehensive understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Capability to multitask efficiently in busy kitchen environments while maintaining presentation and quality.
- Strong time management skills to handle early shifts and sustain consistent breakfast service.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate professionally with colleagues.
- Physical stamina to stand long hours, lift kitchen supplies, and perform repeated tasks safely.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control and waste minimization is advantageous.
- Familiarity with hospitality guest service standards and possession of a food handler certification is preferred.
