Derbyshire County Council is looking for a compassionate and reliable Breakfast Club Leader to oversee its wraparound care breakfast provision. This role is focused on making sure the breakfast club runs efficiently, with strong support for staff, a nutritious breakfast offer, and a calm, enjoyable start to the school day for pupils.

What you'll do

  • Take charge of the daily running of the breakfast club and make sure routines are followed.
  • Supervise and guide other breakfast club staff to maintain a high-quality service.
  • Plan, source and manage food, equipment and other resources needed for the club.
  • Organise a variety of age-appropriate activities for children to enjoy.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and imaginative environment for pupils.
  • Support children’s care needs, including escorting them to school when required.
  • Ensure children are offered a healthy, balanced breakfast.
  • Provide first aid support where needed.
  • Work closely with parents, the school and any relevant external agencies.
  • Attend meetings as required and follow agreed school policies and procedures.
  • Carry out duties in line with equal opportunities principles.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of safeguarding and complete training when necessary.

What the school is looking for

The ideal candidate will be caring, organised and able to lead a small team while keeping the breakfast club atmosphere relaxed and well managed. You should be comfortable handling planning, coordination, child care responsibilities and communication with families and school staff.
