Job description

Role overview

This is a U.S.-based remote writing role focused on producing premium branded and sponsored content for audiences in the foodservice, hospitality, and retail spaces. The position bridges editorial and marketing work, with an emphasis on turning complex industry topics into clear, engaging stories for senior decision-makers. You’ll work across digital and print channels for publications covering restaurants, convenience retail, private clubs, resorts, and broader hospitality markets.

The role calls for a writer who is comfortable researching, interviewing, and building polished content that satisfies both sponsor goals and editorial quality expectations. It’s well suited to someone who enjoys deadline-driven work, thrives in a fast-moving media setting, and is interested in developing subject-matter depth in specialized industry verticals.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop, research, write, and refine branded and sponsored content for both digital and print formats.
  • Work closely with editorial and content teams to create articles, eBooks, white papers, and promotional assets.
  • Gather information through research and interviews to produce accurate, well-organized business stories.
  • Assist editors with special assignments and content projects that span multiple brands.
  • Convert technical or complex industry subjects into reader-friendly narratives for professional audiences.
  • Deliver work on schedule while meeting editorial expectations and sponsor-specific objectives.
  • Keep tone, quality, and factual accuracy consistent across different content types.
  • Contribute ideas that strengthen content strategy and improve storytelling approaches.

What you need to bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, Communications, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in journalism, content writing, marketing, or advertising.
  • A strong portfolio that shows reporting, interviewing, and business writing capability.
  • Ability to handle both short articles and longer-form feature content.
  • Excellent research, writing, and editing ability with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience juggling multiple assignments and working to tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experience supervising freelance writers is an advantage.
  • Curiosity and the ability to learn unfamiliar industry topics quickly.
  • Residency in the United States is required.
  • Preference is given to candidates with B2B media, branded content, or sponsored editorial experience.

Benefits and compensation

  • Annual base salary of $45,000.
  • Fully remote setup for U.S.-based employees.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching and full vesting.
  • Paid time off that includes vacation, sick leave, holidays, and flexible days.
  • Paid parental leave and a culture that supports work-life balance.
  • Chance to create content for well-known B2B media brands and multiple industry segments.
  • Exposure to high-impact storytelling aimed at senior industry leaders.
  • Collaborative editorial culture with room to grow professionally.
