Job description

About British Fashion Council

The British Fashion Council is a not-for-profit body that works to expand the reach and impact of British fashion worldwide. It brings the industry together, invests in emerging talent, and creates high-profile cultural platforms that help designers build long-lasting businesses. The organisation promotes innovation, diversity, and responsible ways of working, and connects creative, commercial, and institutional stakeholders to strengthen the sector. It is funded through industry patrons, commercial partners, and government support.

The BFC is an equal opportunities employer and actively values inclusion, different perspectives, and a workplace where people can show up as themselves. It aims to develop employee skills and support career progression in a creative environment.

About the role

The Brand Partnerships department is hiring a motivated, proactive, and efficient Brand Partnerships Account Executive. The role sits within the Account Management team and supports the delivery of a portfolio of partnership accounts across BFC events and initiatives.

This position offers exposure to several areas of the business and is well suited to someone looking to grow skills in account management, client handling, campaign planning, and event coordination. Experience in building relationships across different sectors, handling several clients or campaigns at once, and working with strong attention to detail will be valuable.

Responsibilities

Account delivery and internal coordination

  • Assist the Brand Partnerships team in delivering commercial partnerships, including direct ownership of selected accounts.
  • Work alongside the sales team to turn partner ideas and rights into campaigns and ensure they are successfully delivered.
  • Partner with colleagues across Brand Partnerships and the wider organisation to execute partnerships, events, and initiatives efficiently and in line with both BFC and partner goals.
  • Represent the Brand Partnerships team internally and build strong working relationships with teams such as events, designer relations, and communications to support smooth delivery.

Campaign management

  • Oversee partner campaigns after the sale, managing key documentation such as critical paths, status updates, and meeting agendas for both internal and external use.
  • Track campaign KPIs, assess performance, flag issues, and identify ways to improve results and return on investment for clients.
  • Manage activation budgets and monitor expenditure throughout the campaign lifecycle.
  • Prepare clear and concise wrap reports that summarise campaign outcomes for partners.
  • Spot risks and challenges early and take action where needed.
  • Look for opportunities to increase account value through upselling and contract renewals.
  • Keep multiple complex project timelines organised across several clients.

Relationship management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships through clear and effective communication.
  • Work diplomatically with internal teams to activate partnerships that meet BFC and partner objectives.
  • Handle complaints and help resolve issues with partners, designers, talent, and others in a calm, empathetic, and practical way, escalating when required.
  • Take a solutions-led approach to internal and external challenges.
  • Attend partner meetings and entertainment events when needed, with flexibility around working hours.
  • Provide clients with accurate agendas, progress updates, and status reports when requested.

Key relationships

  • External stakeholders: commercial partners, agencies, designers, and production companies.
  • Internal stakeholders: events, communications, designer relations, and other wider team members.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar account management or client relationship role.
  • Strong time management and organisational ability.
  • Confidence when dealing with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Clear interest in sponsorship and commercial brand partnerships.
  • Strong enthusiasm for the fashion industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and departments.

Salary and benefits

  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • After a successful probation period, additional benefits become available.
  • Summer working hours: in July and August, the office closes at 3:00 pm on Fridays.
  • Half-day leave on your birthday.
  • Private health insurance through Vitality, including access to a virtual GP and employee assistance programme.
  • Two wellness days off each year.
  • Membership in the BFC pension scheme.
  • Religious festival swapping, allowing employees to exchange standard UK public holidays for days that align with their beliefs or identity, such as Diwali, Eid, or Pride.

How to apply

  • Applicants should send a written application with a cover letter explaining relevant experience, along with a CV, to the stated HR email address and use the specified subject line.
  • Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.
  • Those selected will be contacted by email and invited to a first-stage interview.
  • Applicants should mention any reasonable adjustments needed for the interview process.
  • Because of the number of applications received, feedback cannot be guaranteed for unsuccessful candidates.
