Job description
About Lifestream
Lifestream has been a leader in plant-based nutrition for over four decades. Established in 1980, the brand is dedicated to enhancing health and wellbeing through pure, plant-derived wholefood formulas made from ingredients like spirulina, chlorella, aloe vera, and various ancient herbs. Their mission extends both within New Zealand and internationally.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Brand Manager to take full ownership of the Lifestream Lifemum™ and Kids nutrition sub-lines, focusing on women's care (including pre and post-natal) and children's nutritional products. This role is hands-on, overseeing everything from consumer research and brand positioning to product launches and market executions across New Zealand and global markets. The role is ideal for someone passionate about impactful brand building rooted in purpose, science, and storytelling, especially within the plant-based nutrition space.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive brand strategies for the Lifemum™ and Kids nutrition ranges, covering local and international markets.
- Develop and implement annual brand plans, including positioning, messaging frameworks, campaign development, and selection of marketing channels.
- Drive new product launch processes from initial consumer insights and concept validation through to production-ready shelf execution.
- Collaborate closely with research & development, regulatory, and trade marketing teams to ensure timely, budget-compliant, and brief-aligned product releases.
- Monitor brand health through metrics like awareness, consideration, net promoter scores, and market share, translating insights into actionable brand strategies.
- Oversee brand financials including profit and loss accountability, pricing strategies, and promotional scheduling.
- Manage relationships with external creative, media, and public relations agencies.
- Contribute to broader global brand growth efforts as part of the company’s leadership team.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of three years’ experience in brand management within FMCG, nutrition, health and wellness, or closely related consumer sectors, either in-house or agency side.
- Proven success in launching products and growing brand equity from concept through market introduction.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities, effectively balancing timelines, multiple stakeholders, and budgetary constraints.
- Commercial acumen with experience managing P&L, pricing models, and trade marketing strategies.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Passion for wellness, plant-based nutrition, and sustainability.
Desirable Experience
- Previous work in mother & baby or children’s consumer categories.
- Exposure to plant-based, organic, or natural products segments.
- Experience engaging with New Zealand, Australian, or Asia-Pacific consumer markets.
- Familiarity with working across cross-functional global teams.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary reflecting experience (NZD 80,000–100,000 base plus additional benefits).
- Hybrid working arrangement from our Auckland headquarters in Mount Eden.
- Opportunity to help shape the future direction of a brand with over 40 years of heritage.
- International exposure across markets in Australia & New Zealand (ANZ), Asia, and globally.
- Allocated budget for professional growth and attendance at industry events.
