The organization values its heritage while embracing change, diversity, and strong employee and consumer focus.
Role overview
This is a fully remote position, but candidates must be based in the Greater Toronto Area. The role is field-based and centered on sales, brand activation, consumer engagement, and in-store execution across assigned Shoppers Drug Mart and London Drugs locations. It represents prestige brands including Elizabeth Arden and Juicy Couture, with responsibility for generating sell-through, strengthening brand visibility, and delivering measurable commercial outcomes within a defined territory.
The position combines direct consumer selling, event leadership, merchandising discipline, and store-team education. It also requires managing a demonstrator team, maintaining daily and territory-level sales goals, and planning routes and store visits efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Increase sales through direct-to-consumer engagement during in-store events, animations, and masterclasses.
- Design, run, and lead consumer activations that build traffic, improve conversion, and support incremental revenue.
- Meet daily selling targets as well as broader territory objectives.
- Approach shoppers with demonstrations, brand stories, sampling, and tailored product suggestions.
- Spot opportunities on the shop floor and adjust selling tactics to make the most of busy periods.
- Handle the full setup and delivery of in-store events, including planning, scheduling, staffing, and on-site direction.
- Recruit, train, and supervise demonstrators to ensure strong standards and consistent performance.
- Make sure events follow brand direction and commercial priorities.
- Work with store teams to arrange the best timing, placement, and visibility for events.
- Provide product knowledge and selling-skills training to Beauty Advisors and store associates.
- Explain brand positioning, core benefits, and competitive advantages so frontline staff can confidently recommend the products.
- Coach teams on storytelling, sampling, upselling, and cross-selling methods.
- Review planogram compliance, tester availability, shelf condition, and visual presentation standards.
- Coordinate with store staff to maximize visibility during launches, gift-with-purchase activity, inserts, and other important commercial moments.
- Maintain high execution standards that support sell-through and brand presence.
- Manage the assigned territory with an organized and efficient routing plan.
- Build daily schedules to optimize productivity, coverage, and active selling time.
- Travel frequently between stores and regions, with regular driving required.
- Prioritize locations and tasks based on sales performance, opportunity, and business need.
- Develop trusted relationships with Store Managers and Beauty Advisors.
- Influence store priorities by keeping the brand visible and clearly showing its value.
- Secure extra opportunities such as added space, table placement, or additional event support.
- Turn head office strategy into practical and motivating actions for store teams.
- Review weekly POS results to identify gaps, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Use sales data to shape event planning, training focus, and territory priorities.
- Share timely feedback with head office about consumer response, competitor activity, and execution observations.
- Track event outcomes and selling results to support ongoing improvement.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience in field sales, in-store selling, or brand activation in the beauty sector.
- Strong commercial mindset and a proven ability to hit sales targets.
- Solid knowledge of skincare products; fragrance experience is considered an advantage.
- Confident communication style with strong presentation and storytelling ability.
- Background in training, coaching, or leading demonstrator or retail teams.
- Excellent organization, route planning, and time management skills.
- Comfort working independently in a field role that involves frequent driving and travel.
- Energetic, proactive, and genuinely motivated by selling, education, and brand-building.
- Ability to build relationships and influence decisions in a retail environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, and Word for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada, as sponsorship or visa transfer is not available for this role.
Work schedule and environment
This is a field-based role with regular travel across retail locations. The standard schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, with flexibility required for evenings and weekends. Typical working hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., though the schedule may shift to support peak-selling events. In-store presence is essential, and occasional head office meetings may be required.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary range for this position is CAD 65,000 to CAD 80,000 per year. Actual pay may differ based on skills, experience, role-specific knowledge, and location. Some positions may also qualify for short-term incentives.
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families, co-paid basic life insurance, and short-term disability coverage. Additional offerings may include long-term disability, healthcare spending accounts, an Employee and Family Assistance Program, and health and fitness reimbursement. Employees may also participate in an RRSP and RPP.
Time off includes 3 weeks of vacation in the first year, prorated according to hire date, plus 12 paid holidays each calendar year. Vacation entitlement may vary by role.
