Job description

Overview

A client in the food and beverage sector is seeking a Brand Copywriter to help shape how the brand communicates across every customer touchpoint. This is a strategic writing role that sits at the intersection of brand building and growth marketing, with a focus on creating copy that does more than sound good — it needs to drive understanding, trust, and performance.

In this role, you will be responsible for the company’s voice, messaging direction, and copy execution across channels. The work goes beyond responding to briefs: you’ll evaluate what should be said, why it matters, who it is meant for, and whether the messaging is effectively moving customers toward action. Strong brand writing and effective performance copy are treated as one discipline here.

Growth Opportunity

  • Expand the brand’s communication to reach audiences beyond its current core customer base without losing the qualities that make it distinctive.
  • Improve how new and innovative products are explained so customers quickly understand their value and are more likely to convert.
  • Unify brand storytelling and performance messaging so that all channels — from paid media to lifecycle emails — feel consistent and support growth.

Key Responsibilities

You will contribute to brand voice development, funnel copy, product education, and messaging strategy in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Brand Voice and Messaging

  • Set, refine, and maintain a clear and memorable brand voice across all customer-facing materials.
  • Adapt messaging for different audiences while keeping the brand’s identity consistent.
  • Work closely with creative partners to ensure the written message and visual direction support one another.

Copy Across Channels

  • Create persuasive copy for a wide range of channels, including advertising, landing pages, product detail pages, email, SMS, packaging, social media, and retail placements.
  • Simplify complex products into messaging that is easy to understand, convincing, and trust-building.
  • Develop, test, and refine creative concepts for paid and organic initiatives with a performance-focused mindset.

Product Education and Storytelling

  • Build a repeatable product education approach that improves clarity, reduces hesitation, and supports conversion.
  • Create a unified storytelling system that explains what the products do, how they work, and why they matter, especially for new product launches and retail expansion.

Strategy and Insight

  • Partner with growth, creative, and product teams to align messaging with business goals and experimentation plans.
  • Use customer insight and performance data to improve copy direction and guide future messaging decisions.
  • Identify friction points or missed opportunities in the funnel and turn them into practical messaging solutions.

What Success Looks Like

The ideal person is a strategic, high-ownership writer who can balance brand nuance with commercial impact. You should be comfortable working independently, collaborating across teams, testing hypotheses, and iterating based on feedback and results.

Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of professional copywriting experience, including exposure to DTC, CPG, and wellness brands.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates versatility across brand and performance work, such as product pages, advertisements, brand narratives, and email sequences.
  • Proven ability to approach messaging strategically rather than only producing assigned copy.
  • Experience collaborating with design or creative teams so that copy and visual identity work together effectively.
  • Prior work in regulated categories such as supplements, food, or health.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with e-commerce systems such as Shopify and Amazon, as well as email or lifecycle tools like Klaviyo or similar platforms.
  • Experience creating tone-of-voice guidelines, messaging frameworks, or product education systems.
  • Exposure to U.S. DTC and retail marketing environments.

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is best suited to someone who is customer-obsessed, highly proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by testing, learning, and improving through data and feedback. Applicants should be able to own outcomes end-to-end and bring solutions rather than waiting for direction.
