Role Overview
The Bookkeeper role supports BOXCAR BARBERS by maintaining precise financial records and handling day-to-day accounting activities. This full-time position operates on a hybrid basis, combining working hours at the Melbourne barbershop and flexible remote work as arranged. Key duties encompass recording financial transactions, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial reports for management review.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and bookkeeping entries.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable efficiently.
- Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare basic financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow summaries.
- Monitor cash flow to support operational needs and timely payments to suppliers.
- Use accounting software to organize financial data and generate reports.
- Assist in budgeting processes and collaborate with the business owner to provide clear financial insights.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong expertise in bookkeeping and financial record-keeping.
- Skilled in using accounting software and digital finance tools.
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements comprehensively.
- Ability to accurately post and reconcile journal entries ensuring compliance.
- Relevant bookkeeping or accounting certification (e.g., Certificate IV or equivalent experience).
