Role Overview
The Bolt Torquing Technician position is a full-time, on-site role located in Dammam. The technician will be responsible for accurately executing bolt torquing and tensioning procedures on industrial equipment and piping systems, strictly adhering to technical guidelines and safety protocols. Daily duties include operating calibrated torque and tensioning tools, setting up work areas, inspecting flange and joint integrity, recording torque measurements and test outcomes. Collaboration with supervisors, engineers, and site teams is essential to plan work efficiently, participate in maintenance shutdowns, and minimize client downtime. The role also emphasizes compliance with company and client safety rules, upkeep of tooling and machinery, and support for quality and ISO standard adherence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in bolt torquing and tensioning, including safe handling of manual and hydraulic torque tools and tensioning equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, torque procedures, flange management plans, and manufacturer instructions.
- Strong safety and compliance knowledge, including understanding lockout/tagout practices and familiarity with ISO and quality management standards.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial fittings, flanges, hoses, and mechanical maintenance primarily in oil and gas or related industries.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and site workers and to prepare precise documentation and reports.
- A relevant technical diploma, vocational trade certificate, or qualification in mechanical or industrial maintenance is preferred; experience in bolt torquing or flange management will be considered an advantage.
- Capacity to work on-site in industrial settings, including during shutdowns and extended shifts when necessary, with the physical ability to perform required tasks safely.
