Job description

About the Company

JITF Urban Infrastructure Ltd, established in March 2007, specializes in comprehensive Municipal Solid Waste Management. Their services cover all stages from waste collection and disposal to treatment and energy generation from waste. In 2012, the company commissioned India's first commercial Waste-to-Energy plant in Okhla, New Delhi, processing around 2,000 tons of municipal solid waste daily to generate 16 MW of electricity. Since 2013, JITF has managed waste handling in Bhatinda, Punjab (approx. 350 TPD), and Daman (approx. 30 TPD). In 2016, they secured contracts to develop six greenfield Waste-to-Energy projects across Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and control high-pressure boiler systems, maintaining stable operation by regulating parameters such as steam pressure, temperature, drum level, and fuel feed rate within prescribed limits.
  • Perform hourly inspections of boiler parameters including safety valves, feed pumps, and air-preheaters, while maintaining detailed operation logs.
  • Carry out boiler start-up, warm-up, and shutdown procedures as per standard operating protocols, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency.
  • Support preventive maintenance during routine and annual shutdowns, including tasks like hydro testing, cleaning, refractory drying, and steam blowing activities.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations like pressure deviations, fuel supply interruptions, or system trips, following established emergency procedures.
  • Monitor and optimize boiler efficiency by tracking fuel consumption, steam production rates, and auxiliary power use, targeting at least 80% efficiency and reducing specific fuel consumption.
  • Manage auxiliary systems such as cooling water, feed water, and condensate to ensure system health, carry out equipment rotations, and maintain chemical dosing protocols.
  • Strictly follow Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures and work permit systems, ensuring full compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in boiler houses and auxiliary areas by implementing daily 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Coordinate shift handovers by communicating operational activities, equipment issues, and maintenance needs through detailed notes and logs.
  • Conduct comprehensive rounds inspecting boilers, auxiliaries, flue gas cleaning systems, ash handling, and fuel handling equipment, documenting all findings and parameters.
  • Manage cooling water system health to prevent scaling and corrosion, ensuring efficient heat exchange.
  • Oversee ash production, handling, loading, unloading, and disposal operations, coordinating with contractors to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with plant staff, engineers, and maintenance teams to optimize overall plant safety and performance.
