Job description
Role Overview
This position is for a biology tutor who will assist in training AI systems. The work involves testing chatbot responses, reviewing how well the models reason, and helping identify ways to improve overall output quality.
Subject Matter Expertise
Applicants should have strong biology knowledge. A Master's or PhD that is current, underway, or completed is preferred, though it is not mandatory. Relevant backgrounds may include microbiology, cell biology, genetics, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, and environmental science.
Working Style and Contract Benefits

- Pay starts at USD 40+ per hour, and some projects may offer additional bonus rates.
Responsibilities
- Pose advanced biology questions to AI chatbots and assess the responses they generate.
- Check AI model outputs for scientific accuracy and overall performance.
Qualifications
- Strong English fluency at a native or bilingual level.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, and experimental methods.
- A Master's and/or PhD that is in progress, completed, or underway is preferred but not compulsory.
Payment and Contract Notes
Payments are processed through PayPal, which also manages any currency conversion from USD. No payment or upfront fee will ever be requested from applicants. Only candidates based in New Zealand will be considered. This is an independent contractor arrangement.
