Role Overview
In this hands-on laboratory role, you will support day-to-day experimental work in fundamental cell and molecular biology. The position covers routine cell culture, sample preparation and processing, execution of molecular and cell biology methods with accuracy, and careful collection and documentation of results. You will also contribute to smooth laboratory operations by managing consumables, maintaining sample and data traceability, and following health and safety requirements.
Core Technical Work
- Maintain and expand cell lines while working under sterile conditions and monitoring culture health.
- Carry out nucleic acid extraction, including DNA and RNA work, as well as PCR and qPCR.
- Support cell biology tasks such as transfection, infection, and microscope-based observation.
- Perform protein biochemistry procedures such as electrophoresis and Western blotting.
- Help keep experimental data accurate, organised, and traceable.
Additional Expertise
Experience with flow cytometry or immunofluorescence would be an advantage.
Candidate Profile
- Completed vocational training as a biology laboratory technician, Biologielaborant/in, BTA, MTA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Careful, dependable, and highly organised, with strong attention to quality in bench work.
- Comfortable working in a team and able to communicate scientific matters clearly in English, which is the lab’s working language.
