Job description
Role overview
This remote contractor position is centered on applying biological expertise to support the development of next-generation AI systems. The work involves contributing high-quality, domain-specific input that helps models learn, reason, and perform better. Prior AI experience is not necessary; the key requirement is strong knowledge of biology and the ability to apply it carefully and accurately.
What you will do
- Review complex biology materials, including research papers, documents, and datasets, and identify the most relevant information.
- Create, assess, and improve biology-focused questions and answers that test data retrieval, quantitative reasoning, and critical thinking.
- Write clear explanations and provide detailed feedback to improve model output and understanding.
- Work with a remote, cross-functional team to maintain accuracy, consistency, and depth in the content.
- Use your subject knowledge to support the improvement of AI training data and related project processes.
- Handle your workload independently, meet deadlines, and deliver reliable results with limited supervision.
- Maintain strong written and spoken English communication throughout the work.
What we are looking for
- At least 2 years of experience in biology, gained through academia, laboratory work, or a relevant industry role.
- Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret technical and scientific documents.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience developing or reviewing scientific content such as assessments, reports, studies, or problem sets.
- Comfort working independently in a remote setting with good self-management.
- Careful attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to analyze biological information from multiple sources and turn it into useful insights.
Preferred background
- A Master’s or PhD in Biology or a related discipline.
- Experience working on interdisciplinary or research-oriented projects.
- Familiarity with computational biology tools or data analysis workflows.
Additional information
This role is listed as a contractor position. It is remote and intended for work from anywhere, with the location shown as Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The role is focused on biology expertise, even though some source material references mechanical engineering-related criteria and examples; all such mixed references have been preserved in meaning by describing the need for advanced subject-matter analysis of technical materials and problem sets.
Experience note
The source states a minimum of 2 years of professional or academic experience in the relevant domain. No maximum experience limit was provided.
Compensation and timing
No salary, stipend, joining date, application deadline, number of openings, or internship duration were specified.
