Job description
Role overview
Vertiv is a major manufacturer of electrical switchgear in the UK and Ireland, known for delivering integrated power solutions designed around each customer’s needs. With more than 30 years of experience, the company supports client projects through technical expertise, project management, and strong customer service across its global manufacturing network.
This opening is for a Lead BIM Co-Ordinator who will take ownership of BIM delivery across multiple projects. The role calls for strong BIM knowledge, close attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with teams from different disciplines to keep project information accurate and coordinated.
Key responsibilities
You will guide BIM coordination activities across several projects and work alongside project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to make sure project data is represented correctly in the BIM environment.
The position includes reviewing multidisciplinary models to find and fix clashes, inconsistencies, and design or construction conflicts before they affect delivery.
You will also prepare and apply BIM execution plans, standards, and working protocols so that output remains consistent and high quality from project to project.
Other duties include managing BIM models through their creation, upkeep, and data integration, as well as supporting clash detection and coordination of design and construction information.
You will partner with project managers to keep BIM deliverables aligned with timelines and project goals, and carry out regular model checks to identify any design concerns that need resolution.
The role also involves working with technology teams to assess, introduce, and improve BIM tools, software, and workflows, while providing guidance and training to internal teams and stakeholders on BIM processes.
Staying current with BIM developments, standards, and industry best practices is expected, along with dealing with client and external partner queries to ensure project requirements are met.
A further responsibility is building engineering family libraries using embedded parameters to improve design efficiency, costing, and scheduling.
Skills and qualifications
The role requires practical experience with BIM tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
You should have a solid grasp of BIM standards, procedures, and good practice, along with strong problem-solving ability and a keen eye for detail.
Good communication and people skills are important, as is the ability to manage priorities and juggle several tasks at once.
Familiarity with construction and design workflows will help you succeed in this role, as will the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
Previous exposure to busbar systems would be helpful, but it is not essential because product training and BIM library training will be provided as part of the job.
Additional information
There are no special physical or environmental requirements for this position.
Travel required for the role is 0%.
