Role overview
Bell Media is hiring a full-time onsite Billposter, General Helper 1 in Ottawa, Ontario. The position supports outdoor advertising and sign-related operations as part of a unionized regular full-time role. The work involves hands-on field tasks, physical activity, and outdoor conditions.
What you will do
- Install outdoor advertising materials according to schedule, including work at heights of roughly 50 to 70 feet.
- Assist with operational tasks as assigned by the team.
- Prepare poster and vinyl materials for installation.
- Prepare cut-outs or construct wooden sections measuring 4 feet by 10 feet.
- Work outside in poor weather and seasonal conditions.
- Operate equipment such as a lawn mower, carry a ladder at waist height, and shovel snow.
- Install and maintain sign structures.
- Install and maintain transit shelters.
- Follow all health, safety, and workplace procedures.
- Handle other related duties as needed.
What you need
Applicants should have completed Grade 12 and be able to read, write, and communicate in English. The role calls for someone who takes initiative, works well with others, and is willing to learn. You must be comfortable working at heights, capable of moderate to heavy lifting up to 75 lbs, and able to work with limited supervision. A strong attendance record is important. A valid driver’s license and green patch safety boots are required.
Selected candidates must pass a standardized fitness assessment that confirms the ability to perform the essential duties of the job. Passing this assessment is a mandatory condition of employment.
