Role overview
Destiny Healthcare Services is hiring an organized and dependable Bilingual Scheduler to support its home care operations in Addison, Illinois. This position is best suited for candidates who can communicate fluently in English and Spanish, as bilingual capability is strongly preferred due to the pace and client demand of the role.
The scheduler is responsible for coordinating home care coverage for clients in their homes and communities. The role helps ensure caregivers are assigned correctly, schedules are maintained without disruption, and services are delivered in line with agency standards and state requirements. The position reports to the Branch Manager or Lead Supervisor.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and adjust caregiver schedules so client coverage is consistently maintained.
- Stay in regular contact with caregivers and clients to manage changes, absences, and open shifts.
- Help reduce service gaps by making sure all visits are staffed promptly.
- Track attendance and follow up on missed or incomplete shifts to support EVV compliance.
- Coordinate scheduling for newly onboarded caregivers and clients.
- Keep scheduling records accurate and well documented.
- Work closely with supervisors to use staff resources efficiently.
- Provide administrative support to the office when needed.
- Deliver professional customer service to clients, caregivers, and internal team members.
- Help resolve scheduling issues and urgent coverage needs.
Required qualifications and experience
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
- Experience in home care scheduling, healthcare, or staffing coordination is preferred.
- Strong communication and troubleshooting abilities are important.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment and handling urgent situations is necessary.
- Familiarity with EVV platforms such as Verveware or HHAeXchange is a plus.
- Background with Illinois Department on Aging programs is considered a strong advantage.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Proper vehicle insurance coverage is required.
- May require related experience.
- If serving as an Alzheimer’s services supervisor in an entity licensed under 77 Ill. Adm. Code 245 or 280, the individual must complete at least eight hours of annual dementia-related training and meet one of the following: complete the Alzheimer’s Association EssentiALZ program; receive a credentialing certificate for a certified dementia specialist; qualify as a certified dementia practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners; qualify through the National Certification Board for Alzheimer and Aging Care; or have at least two years of experience working with people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, including at least one year in management, plus ability-centered care training.

Compensation and benefits
