About the Organisation

Don Bosco Kloster Benediktbeuern is a spiritual center with a strong regional presence and is part of the German province of the Salesians of Don Bosco. Around 150 employees work together in line with the mission “Youth, Creation, Education – Today for tomorrow.” The site includes a education center, a nature conservation center, and a guest and conference center.

The education center offers a broad range of programs for children, young people, and adults in values education, environmental education, political and religious education, and youth social work. The nature conservation team works on projects such as peatland rewetting, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture. The guest and conference center provides rooms and event spaces in a distinctive atmosphere within historic, protected buildings. It is a place to meet, pause, experience nature, and learn.

Role Overview

This role focuses on planning, delivering, reviewing, and further developing educational programs for children and young people, with an emphasis on nature-based and experiential learning as well as personal development and values education. The position is available immediately and can be performed full-time or part-time on site in Benediktbeuern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, run, evaluate, and improve educational activities for children and young people in nature and experiential education, such as environmental project weeks and outdoor school programs, as well as personality and values development formats like orientation days.
  • Develop educational concepts further with a strong focus on education for sustainable development.
  • Support the ongoing development of the education center.

Candidate Profile

  • Completed degree in social education, pedagogy, or a similar field, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Ideally, additional training in experiential education.
  • Practical experience working with children and young people.
  • Strong enthusiasm for nature and for living and working in a sustainability-oriented way.
  • Open to the values and guiding principles of the Salesians of Don Bosco, including a willingness to take part in retreats and religious reflection days.
  • Willing to keep learning and to independently build knowledge in new subject areas.
  • Team-oriented, creative, enthusiastic, and open-minded.
  • Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team.
